Brunei Darussalam means " The Abode of Peace", is located in the north-west corner of the island of Borneo. It has a land border with the East Malaysian State, Sarawak and a coastline along the shore of South China Sea. It has a total land area of 5,765 square kilometers. About 70% of the country is still covered by virgin tropical rainforest.
Brunei is divided into 4 districts, Brunei-Muara, Temburong, Tutong and Belait. Brunei is a Malay Islamic Monarchy with a well established history of 600 years, culture and wealth true to its traditions. It is ruled by His Majesty Sultan Haji hassanal Bolkiah Muzzadin Waddaulah, the 29th Sultan of Brunei. Bandar Seri Begawan is the capital of Brunei Darussalam.
Brunei Darussalam has an equatorial climate characterized by a uniform high temperature, high humidity and heavy rainfall. Temperatures range from 23 - 32 Degree Celsius, while rainfall varies from 2,500 mm annually on the coast to 7,500 mm in the interior. There is no distinct wet season.
